Curtis and his snowcaving at -15 degrees

Well Last weekend Curtis and the 12-13 year old boys went Snowcaving in the church parking lot. It has been very cold the last couple of weeks. When the boys went to bed the temp outside was -15 degrees. COOOLLLLDDDD!!!!!!!

But the reason why you dig a snowcave in winter camping is because it is insulated and warmer than just being outside.
Curtis said that he got so hot during the night that he took all of his outdoor gear off and just slept in is pjs. He slept with the other leader and his son. They all slept nice toasty and warm.

These are just a few pictures of Curtis and his snowcave. The second picture is a dad with his son and their snowcave. Curtis helped them dig since they started a little late. I don't think they made it to bed till almost midnight. Lots of digging!!! Oh and I wanted to comment that Curtis is wearing his new$180 North Face Coat that he got at the thrift store for $12 with the tags still on it!!
