Spring Time Snowmachining

Spring time, long sunny days, a new snowfall during the week, and we decided it was time for our first annual DeKay family snowmachine trip. Left to right; Keith Bundy with passenger Curtis who is taking this photo. Jennifer Bundy with Joyce in front and Rachel in back. Carolyn with Canyon on her back and Cantus behind, Cayden is between them on the green sled. Eldon, Beverly and Cassidy on the black machine, Catheryn and Thomas in the sled behind. On the far right is Robert with Winnie. This is on the north fork of the Eagle River which is accessible only 2 minutes away from our house.

Here is Cassidy driving all by herself on a Yamaha Bravo.

Here is Cayden giving Carolyn a ride on grandpa Townsend's machine. He lets us use his machine since he moved out of state. Thanks dad.

Canyon went for a ride with Papa. Very little reaction from her. Internally she is all smiles.

Carolyn is taking this picture. Canyon was on a front pack and Cayden was driving them around. Not visible in this photo is Curtis and Catheryn on one machine and Robert on another racing ahead. Alaska is a great place to live.

Catheryn the seamstress

During Spring Break and Curtis was gone out of town I let the kids sew. I was very impressed with all the kids. I am going to do a couple of posts so you can see pictures of each child sewing. And yes this is my Bernina sewing machine and I LOVE it. It is heaven compared to my Brother.

I very proud with Catheryn. She really enjoyed it and was very careful to keep her fingers away from the needle. I was sewing last August and had the needle go through my finger. So I think that scared the kids enough to be very cautious.
I look at these pictures and see how big Catheryn is getting. She is such a great helper with Canyon and is not the child that gives me gray hair anymore. It is another child now.

Pure enjoyment on her face. I love it. I can put her on the machine and let her go. What a big girl. 3 and sewing. She really wants to make a bag like Cayden now I just need to make the time. I am glad my kids enjoy sewing because I sure do.

Cassidy sewing.

Here is Cassidy sewing. She had a cross stitch she got for her birthday that we never got out. So this is her working on it. The sun shines in my room so nicely during the day I love to hang out in there to soak up all of the warmth.

Happy smiley girl sewing and sun bathing.

Sewing during Spring Break

Cayden made his own bag all by him self. This is Cayden concentrating on sewing a straight seam for his bag.
Cayden sewing the strap for the bag

I still cant get over how well he did. He was quite the sewer. I love this kid!
