First Camping of the season

We purchased a pop up tent last October. A great time to buy becasue people are wanting to get rid of them before winter. It is a good investment. Much nicer then tent camping. Much easier camping with children. Here are our excited children in the queen side, that is where Curtis and I slept, Cassidy and Cayden have the full side.

And finally the happy family. What a great looking family I might add. It was a fun experience. I am glad that we did this pretty close to my parents house. I got pretty cold and had Curtis run up the driveway to get another blanket. It would have been a long cold night. I think next time we might use the heater during the night to at least keep it in the 50's. 40's was a little cold for me.

My little girl is learning to sew

I just had to add this cute picture of Catheryn. This is her favorite thing to do is sit in this swing. This picture is in our garage if you can't tell.

Well here she is. We made a little baby doll carrier yesterday to give away to a friend for her birthday. Cassidy has been asking me to let her sew so yesterday I did it. I let her try it out. My machine doesn't have a speed switch just by the foot peddle and she likes to do it fast.

She still has all of her fingers and now has a joy for sewing for the week. I have also told Cayden that today I will let him sew. I am little more hesitant for him. I could see him sewing his finger or something. We will see.

Cayden's Hair Cut

My little trouble maker can not be left alone for one second. If I am not anywhere close to him he always finds something to do to get in trouble. So I was out side on a wonderful sunny day and Cayden had to go potty. After awhile I realize he has been in there for quite some time. I call out to him and he said he was just going potty and I told him to come out of the bathroom.

Later that day this is what I realize he had been doing. I had given him a quick cut one morning by his ears and told him I needed to finish the job. So he didn't want to wait for me and he tried to finish the job, and didn't do a very good job at that.

So this what I did to try to fix his job. I didn't want to cut it as short as he did but it turned out pretty good. I think this is my best hair cutting job I have done on him. He looks pretty good.

What a cute kid he is even after all the trouble he gets into.

Hiking up with the Kids

Here we are getting ready to head off on our hike. Look at the smiles and how happy the children are. It was so fun getting out with the kids doing something we love.

It was a pretty steep climb and the kids did pretty well. Our biggest bribe to them was when we get to the top there are lots of blueberries that are up there. To bad the blueberries are from last fall but Cayden enjoyed them. The kids happiness defiantly started to deteriorate after a while. It was all up hill and pretty muddy in places.

This is us almost to the top. We stopped here for a snack and to look at Nana and Papa's house. You can see it in the distance on the right side of the pictures. The only building structure you can see. We weren't going to go any further but Cassidy said that we had to go to the top. So Cassidy and I ran to the top really quick and came back down. Once we got down again Cassidy told Curtis, "Daddy do you want to go to the top with me I will take you." It was amazing the energy she found. She just needed some food in her.

This is us enjoying the snack. It was so fun to get out. It was in the low 70's. Great weather and great company. When we get out like this I am amazed at our kids and how well they hike. I just love them so much. I am looking forward to many more hikes this summer.
Another bribe we had was if they did a really good hiking we would go to Subway for dinner. Which Cassidy and Cayden get Veggie subs and Catheryn gets nothing but a bag of potatoe chips. Thats all she can eat that she is not allergic to. It was great. I love my family and getting out with them. It really makes my day.
