Family Photos October 2012

Cassidy does her homework and laundry without being asked. She is a
great help with her siblings. She is very helpful especially with
Crimson. She will play with Crimson so mom can make meals, do dishes,
chores, etc. She is becoming real good at math. She struggled with it
in 2nd grade, but this year is doing so well in math. She is working
on multiplication now.

I often find Cayden reading the Book of Mormon at night. He also reads
other books in bed. He has really taken to reading. He likes the Magic
Tree House books. He is a willing helper. He helped his cousins move
logs. The DeKay cousins were assigned to move wood at their house.
Cayden was over at their house playing and he helped them move. His
favorite subject in school this year is math.

Catheryn is sweet when someone gets hurt. she asks "are you alright?"
She also remembers her family members and will get them treats when
she is offered something by someone. "Can I get one for my brother and
sisters?" She is very playful with Canyon and with Crimson. She likes
to protect them from their father who might ask them to do something
or not do something. "They are just babies dad." Catheryn is really
catching on to her letters. She is spelling many words. We look at
word books and she spells the words under the pictures. Catheryn
learned to ride her bike this summer. She bypassed the whole training
wheel phase.

Canyon is using multiple word sentences now. Last night she spilled
some milk. She said to mom, "milk spill, please help." One evening our family was watching the Northern Lights. I was helping Catheryn pronounce it correctly. Canyon was paying attention too because she too said 'Northern Lights.' She loves
looking at word books. Her vocabulary has increased. She is being
potty trained. She is doing real well going to the toilet to urinate.
She is still struggling with bowel movements.

Crimson is a full on crawler and has been for many months. She can
stand up against the wall and the couch. She walks well when people
hold her hand. She is constantly smiling. She likes to play hide and
seek with blankets. She waves her hand at people. She likes to put her
head down on her parent's shoulders and snuggle. She isn't reacting
when Carolyn eats dairy or wheat.

Kate from Australia is in our home. She is doing well in our family.
The kids all love her. She does well with our children. She is making
friends in school and at church. She is a good student. She was in a
play this semester. She helps out around the house. She is excited for
the winter. She likes to eat junk food that wasn't previously
available to her in Australia.

Max is our new dog. He is a friendly dog. He doesn't have high energy,
but when you take him running he can pull you along faster than you
can run. He is very patient with Crimson who likes to pull, hold,
swat. He sleeps with Cayden at night. Cayden really likes his new dog.

Carolyn has been busy with painting and organizing our new home. She
has friends over on an almost daily basis in order to talk and have
children play with each other. She occasionally gets chances to
practice volleyball with the local high school team. Her friend is the
coach. She enjoys collecting clogs. She takes the younger children out
for walks on a regular basis. She enjoys having people over for dinner
on a regular basis.

Curtis has been busy with outdoor projects preparing for winter. He
still needs to gather firewood for the winter. He has returned to
running and lifting weights after taking a few months off. He enjoys
listening to non-fiction audio books as he commutes to work. He is
looking forward to this winter when he gets to plow their driveway.

Grandparent DeKays Visit

This is my favorite picture of my grandpa and Crimson. It is so cute. It was so nice having my grandparents here. I only wish I could have spent more time with them.

I had invited my grandparents over for dinner and my sister Becca and the rest of the family showed up as well. So we ended up having 31 people for dinner that night.

This is another candid picture that I really like. I love how everyone is so happy with each other.

Baldy June 2012

Our summer trip up Baldy was successful. Everyone made it to the top on their own power except for Canyon and Crimson.

This is us on the way down. Catheryn looks like such a cute forest pixie.

Visiting Bear

We had a bear show up at our house. He slept under our children's play area.

The bear got hungry and chased a mouse into a storage bin in our front yard. He put some marks in the lid to access the mouse. The mouse was found dead, but not eaten. Too small maybe?

Cayden Turns 7

Cayden turned 7 this year. He asked to go camping with just a bunch of boys. I took him and three of his friends camping at Eklutna Lake. Cayden's Papa came for the evening. It was nice to have him come too.

A father of one of Cayden's friends came for the night. It was good to have the extra help.

There was a fun activity available on Saturday morning. The boys were able to paint a wooden fish. This was there creation.

Bike ride on the Coastal Trail

Today we went on a bike ride on the Coastal trail in Anchorage.  It was a lot of fun but a little working pulling this trailer of my three little girls.
Here is Catheryn excited that she gets to ride and not have to bike her self.  Just wait she will be there next year.  She is doing really well on her bike but not ready to bike several miles.
Cassidy excited to get going.
Here is Cayden at the half way point that we turned around at.   He thought that he worked hard enough to get a snack.
My two bikers.  They are awesome!!!  I love having older kids and doing things with them.  They are so much fun.
I wish this was a better picture but I love their face expressions.
Cassidy my model.
Cassidy took a picture of me.  It is a little blurry but I did get a picture taken of my on one of our outings which is really rare.
My sleeping beauty!   Canyon also fell asleep so it was Just Catheryn enjoying the show.
The kids coming across one of the bridges.
We are almost done and getting close to the park.   They were very excited to go to the park.   We ended up biking about 7.5 miles.  They did a great job and I look forward to many more bike rides with these guys.
Till Next Time........

Crimson Rose

I know Curtis added some pictures of Crimson yesterday but I thought that I would add some more.  Here is Crimson on her hands and knees thinking she is going to go somewhere.  I am very thankful she can only go backwards right now.   I am not ready for her to be crawling!!
Crimson smiling at Tyson her uncle.  You cant see him but he is sitting in a chair next to her.
Our happy Baby!!
Crimosn loves to play with her feet.  She is such a fun baby!
Crimson LOVES bell peppers!  She just sucks on them and chews on them.  She had no teeth yet and I watch her pretty good so if she does get a chunk in her mouth I take it out.   But it is so nice to have her chew on them while I am getting dinner ready.
We love our little girl.  She is so patient and forgiving to her siblings!
