Carolyn went to California last week for some training as a local coordinator for CIEE. She helps to place international students in host families to build bridges of understanding. While there she visited my sister Tressa. Tressa, thank you for hosting Carolyn and showing her a good time. It was fun to have time with just the children. I enjoyed my time with them, just father and children. I am happy to have my wife return. She is a wonderful part of our family. She is a blessed part of me. I love you babe.

The sun was bright, and the temperature was just right for a day playing in the snow. We paused long enough to take this photo. We spent several hours outside playing in the snow. Some of us lasted longer than others. We even convinced Cantus to come outside and play with us. She is our exchange student from China and not used to the colder temperatures of Alaska.
We love the wooded landscape of our lot. We love the trees that provide homes for birds and ground mammals. The birds were playing above us as we were playing below.

Here I am with my lovely wife. Her skin color is so beautiful after some time in the California sun. Our house and lot is southern facing and higher up on the mountain so we get good sun exposure.

Our youngest one was dressed warm enough that she was content to sit on the snow and eat handfuls of the white crystaline ice. I took her sliding down the hill and she didn't object to that. She objected when her brother smashed a handful of snow in her face and she wouldn't be consoled till she was taken inside. We all came inside for some freshly baked wheat-free banana muffins and bran muffins. We live a good life.
